Personal Injury:

The area of legal practice commonly known as "Personal Injury" covers a broad spectrum of legal claims, cases and issues. Personal injury law encompasses claims for injuries arising out of and/or caused by an infinite variety of situations -such as automobile accidents, slip and falls, trip and falls, falling objects, negligent or intentional assaults, trespass, playground incidents, legal and medical malpractice, negligent care of others, etc. Claims can be made for "damages" such as physical injuries, pain and suffering, scarring, loss of a bodily member or function, impairment, loss of income, damage to or loss of property, lost profits and more. Our firm has been involved with and represented individuals suffering injuries as well as individuals having caused injuries or other damages. In our over 82 years of combined experience we have handled literally thousands of cases involving an infinite variety of situations and damages. Most cases settle without ever proceeding to trial with our without a jury. However, in situations where a settlement cannot be reached, we have been successful before some of the toughest and most conservative juries in the country. In fact, Marc Chase became a member of the exclusive "Million Dollar Advocates Forum" by winning a jury verdict for 1.5 million dollars in a personal injury case. The members of Chase & Chase handle personal injury cases, personally. At a free, initial consultation you will meet and consult with a Chase family attorney. He will personally handle your case from its inception to its conclusion. No inexperienced young associate or paralegal will ever have responsibility for your matter. All personally injury cases handled by our firm are on a "contingent basis," meaning that you pay us no fee unless we recover money for you, and our fee is fixed, by law as a percentage of the total recovery. Although the law requires the client to reimburse the firm in the event there is no recovery of money, Chase & Chase advance all expenses and do not have their clients commit to reimburse them if there is no recovery.

Family Law:

The area of legal practice commonly referred to as Family Law or Domestic Relations Law involves a full range of legal issues confronting most everyone. This area of law includes divorce, pre-marital agreements, separation agreements, custody, child support, alimony, parenting time/visitation, annulment, and quasi-criminal matters involving children and young-adults under the age of 18. Our firm regularly represents litigants in matters as issue-limited as those involving short-term marriages with no children to those involving contested custody, distribution of substantial assets, alimony, claims against family businesses and more complex issues. In appropriate cases, violence within the family can result in claims against a spouse for monetary damages. While our firm will proceed to trial in appropriate cases, clients are advised from the very inception of the attorney-client relationship that all reasonable efforts are taken to resolve legal issues consensually, by agreement, without the need for costly and lengthy litigation. Recognizing the emotional damage that necessarily follows the breakdown of personal relationships, our firm encourages its clients to maintain lines of communication and to avoid involving children in the legal process.

Commercial Law:

This area of practice is broad in scope. It includes advising "start-up" businesses and creating new business entities. It includes negotiation and preparation of agreements between partners, shareholders, co-owners, employees and independent contractors. Changes in business structure including "buy-outs" of co-owners, development of new areas of business and the transition to "e-commerce" are also involved. Transactions are an important aspect of the practice of commercial law. From leasing rental space, purchasing equipment, sub-leasing, buying or selling a business to agreements with sales representatives, independent contractors and suppliers, a commercial law attorney should be consulted. Our firm advocates "preventive legal procedure" by which businesses are encouraged to discuss plans and review documents before implementation and execution.
